Lead Mobile Developer - Android

About the role

As a Lead Mobile Developer at Thoughtworks you will act as the primary technical liaison for clients, shaping mobile strategies and delivering high‑quality Android solutions. You will balance strategic vision with hands‑on development, collaborating closely with both clients and internal teams.

Key responsibilities

• Champion clean, reusable code using TDD, mobile architecture patterns, design, and pair programming.
• Oversee the full software consulting lifecycle from ideation to production evolution.
• Design platform‑appropriate, human‑centered experiences that meet client constraints.
• Apply continuous delivery practices to accelerate software delivery.
• Work in product‑focused, collaborative teams to build innovative customer experiences.
• Leverage Thoughtworks’ Technology Radar to select pragmatic technologies.
• Code alongside developers, staying technically involved rather than purely managerial.
• Advocate DevSecOps, using tools and practices that shift security left.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading mobile development teams using Agile, Lean, or Continuous Delivery methodologies.
• Strong understanding of mobile‑specific concerns such as vendor lock‑in, constrained environments, offline operation, release cycles, accessibility, and privacy.
• Ability to negotiate with clients, translate technical vision into actionable plans, and coach teammates.

Required skills

• Proficiency in two or more mobile languages (e.g., Swift, Kotlin, Dart, JavaScript).
• Experience with UI frameworks such as Swift UI, Jetpack Compose, or Flutter.
• Familiarity with mobile DevOps tools like fastlane and Gradle.
• Hands‑on practice of TDD, continuous integration, and infrastructure automation.
