Software Engineer – AgileOps (Mainframe Modernization)

About the role

Kyndryl is looking for a Software Engineer to join its AgileOps team and help modernize mission‑critical mainframe applications. You will design, build and maintain high‑volume business logic on the mainframe while extracting legacy code for cloud and mobile integration.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor mainframe architecture and identify performance‑optimisation opportunities.
• Debug, troubleshoot and test complex system interactions to keep critical applications running.
• Refactor legacy business logic for migration or integration with cloud‑based services.
• Collaborate with a global community of experts to share knowledge and drive modernization.

Required profile

• Level 1 support experience with Linux/Windows operating systems.
• Familiarity with container platforms such as Kubernetes and Docker.
• Ability to work proactively, communicate clearly and adapt to change.
• Team‑oriented mindset with strong customer‑service orientation.

Required skills

• Databases: MongoDB, CosmosDB, SQL Server.
• Cloud platform: Microsoft Azure.
• Scripting: Bash, Shell, PowerShell.
• Version control and CI/CD tools: Git, Bitbucket, Jira, Jenkins, Bamboo.
• Programming languages: Java.NET, Ruby, Python (YAML).
• Operating system expertise: RHEL II or equivalent.
