Aircraft Quality Control Inspector – H-60

About the role

The Aircraft (H-60) Quality Control Inspector ensures that aircraft and components meet strict quality standards in accordance with CAMP, maintenance manuals, engineering drawings, and approved data. This position supports the Worldwide Aviation Support Services (WASS) program, providing critical inspection services for U.S. Department of State Air Wing operations.

Key responsibilities

• Execute and assist with assigned inspection tasks, including Required Inspection Item (RII) inspections.
• Review maintenance documents to verify RII markings and audit completed maintenance for compliance.
• Validate work order tasks before logbook entries and airworthiness release.
• Provide on‑the‑job training for new or inexperienced personnel.
• Ensure all technical data is current and parts are properly received, tagged, and inspected.
• Maintain calibrated tools, monitor shelf‑life of materials, and enforce weight‑and‑balance requirements.
• Participate in internal audits as directed by the Quality Control Manager.
• Maintain continuity of inspections on incomplete work and perform additional duties as assigned.

Required profile

• High School diploma or GED.
• Valid FAA Airframe and Power Plant (A&P) License.
• Minimum six years of aviation/aerospace experience, with at least four years in a specialized support role.
• Quality Control Inspection experience on H‑60 aircraft.
• Thorough knowledge of TO military specifications.
• Technical writing or editing experience (desired).
• U.S. Department of State Moderate Risk Public Trust (MRPT) clearance.
