Application Engineer

About the role

Rheonics is seeking an Application Engineer to join its Peru team. You will provide after‑sales technical support for inline viscosity and density sensors, assist customers with installation and integration, and help translate complex technical concepts into clear guidance.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver on‑site and remote technical support for sensor installation, electronics configuration, and communication protocol setup (Modbus, 4‑20mA, HART, RS‑485).
• Assist customers in integrating sensors with PLC, DCS, or SCADA control systems.
• Troubleshoot field issues, working closely with customers and internal engineering teams.
• Develop application notes and case studies documenting sensor performance across industries such as food & beverage, oil & gas, chemicals, and pharma.
• Support pre‑sales activities by explaining sensor principles, defining configurations, and preparing technical quotations.
• Hand over finalized quotes and purchase orders to the sales team.
• Maintain relationships with partners and distributors, providing technical assistance as needed.
• Collaborate with sales, support, engineering, marketing, and media teams throughout the sales and support lifecycle.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical Engineering or a related technical field.
• 1–3 years of experience in technical support, applications engineering, or field service, preferably with industrial sensors or process equipment.
• Strong written and verbal English communication skills; additional languages are a plus.
• Willingness to travel occasionally for on‑site installations or customer visits.

Required skills

• Mechanical installation practices (flanges, fittings, tank/pipe mounting).
• Electronics configuration and industrial communication protocols: Modbus, HART, 4‑20mA, RS‑485.
• Process control systems knowledge: PLC, DCS, SCADA.
• 3D CAD software: SolidEdge, Solidworks, Inventor, Fusion 360, AutoCAD.
