Junior Metals Operator – Logistics Specialist

About the role

We are seeking a Junior Metals Operator to support end‑to‑end contract execution for a metals trading company. The role involves coordinating logistics, handling documentation, and working closely with traders, finance, and systems teams to ensure accurate and timely shipments.

Key responsibilities

• Communicate daily with suppliers, receivers, and service providers.
• Prepare physical commodity shipments and associated shipping documentation.
• Coordinate customs clearance for imports and exports.
• Issue and receive releases with international warehouses.
• Prepare invoices in line with payment terms, including CAD and bank collections.
• Support cargo execution while maintaining payment and reporting requirements.
• Apply Incoterms knowledge when organizing shipments.
• Coordinate multimodal transportation (vessel, truck, rail).
• Obtain freight quotes and reconcile inventory using Balsamo.
• Maintain accurate records in Balsamo, including credit lines and exposure reports.

Required profile

• At least 1 year of logistics experience within a trading environment.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, Logistics or a related field.
• Understanding of shipping logistics, geography and efficient shipment execution.
• Experience working in finance or business‑focused settings.
• Strong attention to detail, time‑management and organizational abilities.
• Excellent communication skills and comfort working cross‑functionally.

• Balsamo logistics system (training provided)

What we offer

• Starting salary of $25,000 USD per year, dependent on experience.
