Patient Safety & Pharmacovigilance Coordinator

About the role

The Patient Safety & Pharmacovigilance Coordinator will act as the local lead for patient safety and pharmacovigilance in Ecuador and Peru. Reporting to global PSPV functions, the role is responsible for establishing and maintaining a compliant local PV system that protects patients and supports product marketing authorisations.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement the local PSPV strategy in line with the global framework.
• Lead the local PSPV team, fostering Boehringer Ingelheim’s culture and One Medicine strategy.
• Establish and document a compliant local pharmacovigilance system, including PV repository and guidance documents.
• Prepare periodic safety reports and local risk management plans in coordination with global functions.
• Serve as the Local Responsible Person for Pharmacovigilance (RPPV) for the national health authorities of Ecuador and Peru.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience in pharmacovigilance.
• Pharmacy degree (Pharmacist) with a focus on medicine, pharmacy or biochemistry.
• Proven leadership abilities, especially in managing diverse teams under pressure.
• Working knowledge of Boehringer Ingelheim therapeutic areas and the drug development process.
• Intermediate proficiency in English.

Required skills

• Hands‑on experience with pharmacovigilance databases.
• Strong understanding of GxP regulations.
