QA Engineer

About the role

Haystack News is a fast‑growing TV startup delivering local and world news on connected TVs. We are looking for a QA Engineer to join our engineering team in Lima and help ensure the high quality of our product across multiple platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Estimate, prioritize, plan and coordinate testing activities for new features and releases.
• Develop and execute both manual and automated test plans and test cases.
• Identify, record, document and track bugs throughout the development lifecycle.
• Collaborate with developers to isolate issues, verify fixes and improve test coverage.
• Respond to customer feedback, troubleshoot issues and assist with support tickets.
• Stay current with modern testing methodologies, tools and best practices.

Required profile

• Strong academic background (include GPA on application).
• Thorough understanding of QA processes, including test case planning, documentation, automation and regression testing.
• Experience with both black‑box and white‑box testing in Agile environments.
• Detail‑oriented, problem‑solver who works well in small teams.
• Excellent written and spoken English communication skills.

Required skills

• HTML, CSS, JavaScript and Node.js.
• SQL and relational database testing.
• Test automation tools such as TestCafe, Cypress, Selenium, Puppeteer, Appium, Espresso and XCUI.
• Experience writing UI tests for Android (Espresso) and iOS (XCUI).
