Software Engineer III, Core Banking

About the role

Scotiabank Peru is looking for a Software Engineer III to join its Core Banking chapter. You will contribute to the design, development, and maintenance of backend services that power digital banking experiences, ensuring high quality, security, and reliability.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop backend components and APIs that extend digital capabilities for retail banking.
• Write maintainable, testable code while adhering to secure coding practices and software metrics.
• Take operational ownership of services, participate in incident resolution, and improve service level objectives.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary squads to deliver features, support continuous integration/continuous delivery pipelines, and drive automation.
• Contribute to the software development lifecycle, from architecture to testing and deployment.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• At least 4 years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong problem‑solving abilities and a customer‑focused mindset.
• Ability to work both independently and within cross‑functional teams.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Genexus, Bantotal.NET, Java, SQL, Redis, Kafka, and Gradle.
• Experience in backend development, cloud computing, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Knowledge of secure coding practices, threat modeling, application security, and IAM.
• Familiarity with site reliability engineering (SRE) concepts.
