Virtual Medical Receptionist – Remote

About the role

Cypress Health is looking for a reliable and compassionate Virtual Medical Receptionist to be the first point of contact for patients. Working remotely during U.S. office hours, you will deliver high‑quality customer service while handling scheduling, communications, and administrative duties for a busy healthcare team.

Key responsibilities

• Answer incoming calls professionally and courteously.
• Schedule, reschedule, confirm, and cancel patient appointments.
• Verify patient demographics and insurance information.
• Respond to patient inquiries via phone, email, and secure messaging.
• Route calls and messages to providers and clinical staff.
• Maintain accurate patient records in the EMR system.
• Process faxes, create new patient charts, and handle referral coordination.
• Follow HIPAA guidelines and company policies at all times.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
• Reliable high‑speed internet and a quiet, private home office.
• Ability to work independently during U.S. office hours.

Required skills

• Experience with eClinicalWorks, Kareo, Epic, or similar EMR platforms.
• Familiarity with medical terminology and insurance verification.
• Professional phone etiquette and customer‑service skills.
