Web Engineer – SmartTV Apps

About the role

Haystack News is expanding its SmartTV platform and needs a Web Engineer to build and maintain web‑based applications that run on connected televisions. You will work closely with the founding team and UI/UX designers to deliver new features quickly and reliably.

Key responsibilities

• Develop new features and maintain code for Haystack’s Web and HTML‑based SmartTV apps.
• Collaborate with UI/UX, QA and other stakeholders throughout sprint cycles.
• Participate in architectural improvements and design reviews of web platforms.
• Conduct code reviews, write unit tests and implement quality measures.
• Optimize performance and monitor production apps for errors.

Required profile

• B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related field.
• At least 2 years of professional software development experience.
• Strong written and spoken English.
• Ability to learn new technologies quickly and work independently.

Required skills

• JavaScript, HTML, CSS
• TypeScript
• React, Redux, React‑Router
• jQuery and DOM manipulation
• Node.js and Express (or similar frameworks)
