Restaurant Accountant with QuickBooks Online Expertise

About the role

We are seeking a detail‑oriented accountant to support our restaurant clients. Working remotely with Howard Financial’s finance team, you will ensure accurate bookkeeping, timely reconciliations, and clear financial reporting for hospitality businesses.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and update all financial records in QuickBooks Online, categorising expenses and managing the general ledger daily.
• Reconcile daily POS sales reports with cash deposits, credit‑card payouts and delivery‑app transactions.
• Process vendor invoices, track food & beverage and labor costs, and ensure timely payments.
• Monitor key restaurant metrics such as COGS and labour percentages.
• Perform month‑end bank and credit‑card reconciliations and generate basic profit & loss statements for owners/managers.

Required profile

• 1–3 years of accounting or bookkeeping experience in the restaurant/hospitality sector.
• Strong, hands‑on experience with QuickBooks Online.
• Familiarity with restaurant POS systems (e.g., Toast, Clover, Square) and their integration with QBO.
• Ability to work independently, meet 9 AM–5 PM EST Monday‑Friday schedule, and thrive in a fast‑paced environment.
