Software Engineer – Application Support (Peru & Argentina)

About the role

Western Union is looking for a proactive Software Engineer to support and maintain business‑critical applications for its operations in Peru and Argentina. The role focuses on ensuring application stability, operational continuity, and timely incident resolution.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain stability, availability, and continuity of critical applications.
• Manage incidents, service requests, and problem tickets via ServiceNow, adhering to service level agreements.
• Provide support for billing, JD Edwards, branch operations, and other core systems.
• Troubleshoot .NET‑based application, database, and integration issues.
• Conduct root‑cause analysis and implement improvements to reduce recurring incidents.
• Maintain and enhance legacy applications using .NET, Oracle Database, and Microsoft SQL Server.
• Participate in testing, deployments, release validation, and post‑production support.
• Create and maintain technical documentation, support procedures, and knowledge‑base articles.
• Collaborate with business users and global engineering teams to deliver continuous improvements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree (completed or in progress) in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems or related field.
• 2+ years of experience supporting enterprise applications in a multinational environment.
• Intermediate or advanced English proficiency.
• Experience working in Agile environments and with distributed teams.
