Accounting Team Lead

About the role

MAVI is looking for an Accounting Team Lead to run the day‑to‑day accounting operation for US clients. You will manage a small team of accountants, own the month‑end, quarter‑end and year‑end close cycles, and act as the primary contact for the client’s finance team.

Key responsibilities

• Run end‑to‑end Record‑to‑Report (R2R) processes on a defined close calendar.
• Lead a small team, assign close work, hold the calendar and deliver a complete close on schedule.
• Provide first‑line review of journal entries, reconciliations and supporting schedules.
• Mentor junior accountants and report progress to the Controller.
• Prepare US GAAP financial statements for Controller review.
• Own balance‑sheet reconciliation and drive ageing items to resolution.
• Coordinate audit deliverables, prepare PBC items and respond to auditor queries.
• Develop and enforce accounting policies, build close checklists and SOPs.
• Identify and implement process automation and workflow improvements.

Required profile

• 6+ years of accounting experience with strong US GAAP expertise.
• Demonstrated ownership of a full close cycle end‑to‑end.
• Experience supervising or mentoring accountants.
• Strong reconciliation discipline and judgment.
• Experience supporting audits and direct auditor interaction.
• Excellent English communication skills.
• Ability to work with US time‑zone overlap.
