Area Sales Manager

About the role

ABB is looking for an Area Sales Manager to drive new business and grow existing accounts within the Automation Business Area. You will support the sales organization and customers across your assigned territory, contributing to the development of sustainable, high‑performance solutions for process industries.

Key responsibilities

• Create and coordinate division sales plans for the area in partnership with sales teams.
• Analyze customer needs and competitor offers using market data and sales insights.
• Lead marketing actions such as product launches and communicate value propositions to customers and the sales organization.
• Support customers in selecting technically appropriate, cost‑effective solutions and prepare competitive offers.
• Participate in sales strategy discussions, set short‑ and long‑term goals, and help negotiate the division sales budget.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronic, Instrumentation, Chemical, Industrial Engineering or a related technical discipline.
• 8+ years of proven experience in technical sales, business development, or account management within industrial automation or process instrumentation.
• Strong knowledge of measurement and analytics solutions and experience selling to process industries such as Oil & Gas, Mining, Power Generation, Water & Wastewater, Food & Beverage, Pulp & Paper, or Chemicals.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder‑management skills.
• Advanced English proficiency and willingness to travel within the assigned territory.
