Assistant Superintendent – Construction Support (Tie‑In & Turnover)

About the role

Bechtel is seeking an entry‑level Assistant Superintendent to support the construction of two large acid water treatment plants at the Yanacocha gold mine in Peru. The role works closely with the Project Construction Superintendent to ensure that construction activities are planned, safe, and aligned with the overall project schedule.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation of construction drawings, sketches, and method statements.
• Support the development of workforce, material, and equipment forecasts and schedules.
• Monitor installation of materials and equipment to verify compliance with drawings, specifications, and vendor requirements.
• Help enforce ES&H policies, quality standards, and field work rules.
• Provide technical assistance to Field Engineers, Foremen, and craft professionals in interpreting engineering designs.

Required profile

• Entry‑level construction supervision experience or a related engineering background.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to work under the direction of a superintendent.
• Commitment to safety, quality, and environmental compliance.

Required skills

• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and engineering designs.
• Knowledge of environmental safety & health (ES&H) practices.
• Familiarity with construction quality control procedures.
