Avionics Technician 3 – H-60 Aircraft

About the role

The Avionics Technician 3 will support H‑60 aircraft by inspecting, testing, adjusting, and repairing a wide range of avionics systems. Working on radar, radio, navigation, autopilot and compass equipment, the technician ensures airworthiness and mission readiness for expeditionary and conventional aviation operations.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect avionics components for defects such as loose connections, frayed wires, and assembly errors.
• Test equipment under simulated or actual operating conditions using oscilloscopes, digital meters, counters and circuit analyzers.
• Adjust, repair or replace defective parts following blueprints, schematics and technical manuals.
• Calibrate repaired or newly installed systems to prescribed specifications.
• Accompany flight crew for in‑flight adjustments and document post‑flight repair requirements.
• Perform FAR‑required inspections (e.g., 91.411, 91.413) and operate ground stations for air‑to‑station checks.
• Fabricate wiring harnesses and implement avionics upgrades and modifications.
• Provide host‑nation training, oversight of local avionics mechanics and maintenance contractors.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Graduate of a 2‑year electronics‑avionics technical program or equivalent military experience.
• FFCC License with Element 3 or FAA A&P License.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in aircraft installation, inspection, maintenance and repair.
• Experience interpreting blueprints, diagrams, service manuals and other technical data.
• CMF 15 aviation MOS series or comparable qualification.
