Healthcare Assistant – Home Care (Part‑time/Full‑time)

About the role

InisCare is looking for compassionate Healthcare Assistants to support customers living at home in the D2, D4, D6 and D8 areas. You will help clients with personal care, daily living tasks and ensure a safe, dignified environment.

Key responsibilities

• Provide personal care such as bathing, dressing and incontinence support.
• Assist with meal preparation, light housekeeping and mobility exercises.
• Follow safety protocols, including safe moving and handling procedures.
• Report any concerns about customers or colleagues to the manager.
• Document all tasks accurately in daily logs.
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to safeguarding policies.
• Attend scheduled training and work within professional boundaries.
• Encourage customer autonomy and engage in respectful conversation throughout the shift.

Required profile

• QQI Level 5 Health Care Award or equivalent.
• Completed training in Children’s First, Safeguarding, Dementia Care, GDPR, Infection Prevention and Control, Hand Hygiene and PPE use (HSE/AMRIC).
• Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
• Reliability, physical stamina and attention to detail.

Required skills

• Basic patient care (bathing, dressing, feeding).
• Assistance with mobility and exercise.
• Infection prevention and control practices.
