Hydraulic Engineer (Mining Projects)

About the role

The Hydraulic Engineer will lead field investigations and develop specifications for hydrology and hydraulic design on large mining projects. The role involves flood analysis, special studies, regulatory interpretation, and supporting business development activities.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare hydraulic and hydrologic calculations, conceptual designs, studies and reports for mining facilities.
• Perform hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, flood risk and impact assessments, and flood protection design.
• Design river training, diversion, erosion and scour protection measures.
• Develop stormwater management, drainage, and sediment control designs.
• Conduct pipeline hydraulic calculations and prepare permitting applications for both permanent and temporary facilities.
• Provide oversight for value engineering, constructability, safety, and O&M reviews.
• Coordinate civil or structural engineering designs with hydrology and hydraulic assessments.

Required profile

• Experience in hydraulic and hydrologic design for mining projects.
• Ability to conduct field investigations and flood risk assessments.
• Familiarity with relevant regulations and permitting processes.
• Strong analytical skills to lead flood analysis and special studies.
