Junior Engineer – Mining & Geotechnical (Level A)

About the role

We are seeking a Junior Engineer (Level A) to join our engineering team, supporting mining, geotechnical, civil and environmental infrastructure projects across Latin America and internationally. This position offers early‑career professionals the chance to develop technical expertise while working alongside experienced engineers and multidisciplinary teams.

Key responsibilities

• Process, analyze and interpret field investigation and laboratory testing data.
• Support technical analyses related to slope stability, seepage, consolidation and settlement.
• Participate in field programs such as drilling campaigns, site investigations and monitoring activities.
• Manage and organize technical information from laboratories, contractors and external stakeholders.
• Review and interpret laboratory and field test results (grain size, Atterberg limits, triaxial, SPT, vane shear, instrumentation).
• Assist in engineering design and evaluation of mining infrastructure including tailings storage facilities, waste rock dumps, heap leach pads, access roads and water management structures.
• Prepare engineering calculations, technical memoranda, reports and design documentation.
• Develop quantity take‑offs, construction volume estimates and material balance calculations.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate engineering, environmental, social and closure considerations.
• Contribute to project coordination activities and support successful project delivery.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (or recent graduate).
• Approximately two years of relevant experience in engineering consulting, mining projects or geotechnical investigations.
• Knowledge of geotechnical engineering principles, field investigations, laboratory testing, slope stability, seepage and earth structures.

Required skills

• Proficiency with GeoStudio (Slope/W, Seep/W).
• Experience using HEC‑RAS.
• Familiarity with HCANALES.
• Experience with S10 software.
