Logistics Operator – Commodity Trade (Lima)

About the role

The Logistics Operator will manage the end‑to‑end execution of physical commodity shipments for a global trading company. This hands‑on position requires strong follow‑up abilities, attention to detail, and the capacity to work under pressure while coordinating with multiple partners.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate physical shipments with customers, suppliers, and logistics providers across vessel, truck, rail and multimodal transport.
• Prepare, review and manage all shipping documentation, including bills of lading and customs paperwork.
• Handle invoicing, payment terms and payments to suppliers and logistics partners.
• Organise inspections, sampling, assaying and claims processes.
• Calculate, track and report demurrage and dispatch costs.
• Maintain shipping lists, debtor reports, exposure sheets, credit lines and inventory reconciliations.
• Update Balsamo with contractual and shipment information and generate related reports.
• Support freight optimisation projects and mentor junior team members.

Required profile

• 2+ years of logistics, shipping or trade operations experience in commodities trading or mining.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, Logistics or a related field.
• Strong English communication skills and numerical literacy.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Excel.
• Ability to meet deadlines and work effectively under pressure.
