Manager, Closure Technical Services

About the role

The Manager, Closure Technical Services will lead the technical expertise teams that support the Yanacocha mine closure. This role ensures safety, regulatory compliance and technical excellence while driving sustainable asset life‑extension initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Provide safety leadership and embed a strong safety culture across all technical activities.
• Lead diverse technical functions including geosciences, mine planning, tailings management and surveying.
• Coordinate short‑ and medium‑term technical service programs that enhance asset life and production quality.
• Generate detailed performance reports covering progress, safety incidents and efficiency metrics.
• Ensure adherence to company policies, industry standards and all regulatory requirements.
• Interface with mining, processing, business‑unit and enterprise technical teams to align initiatives.
• Support sustaining capital projects by informing capital plans and budgeting.
• Identify key performance indicators, analyse data trends and drive continuous improvement.
• Conduct risk assessments and develop management systems to mitigate identified risks.

Required profile

• Proven leadership experience in a mining or large‑scale industrial environment.
• Strong understanding of safety, regulatory and governance frameworks.
• Ability to coordinate multidisciplinary technical teams and manage complex projects.
• Excellent analytical and reporting skills with a focus on continuous improvement.
