Medical Biller & Coder 3 – Remote (Peru)

About the role

This is a remote LATAM contractor position supporting outpatient mental health centers. The role is based in Peru and works on an Amazon Workstation environment, aligning with U.S. Eastern Time business hours.

Key responsibilities

• Review clinical documentation to ensure completeness before billing.
• Assign accurate CPT, ICD-10‑CM, and HCPCS codes and enter charges into the EHR/billing system.
• Submit claims on time, verify patient and payer information, and resolve rejections.
• Support denial resolution, audit readiness, and escalation of missed charges.
• Assist with backlogs, quality reviews, and process‑improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• 2–4 years of U.S. medical billing and coding experience, preferably in outpatient mental health.
• Working knowledge of CPT, ICD‑10‑CM, and basic HCPCS coding.
• Familiarity with U.S. insurance, Medicaid, and managed‑care billing processes.
• Strong attention to detail, English communication skills, and ability to follow defined workflows.
• Professional coding certification (CPC or equivalent) is preferred.
