Operations Manager & Tour Coordinator

About the role

Destination Peru, a luxury Destination Management Company in Peru, is seeking an experienced Operations Manager & Tour Coordinator to lead its Inca Trail and Cusco‑based tours. You will own every trip, solve problems proactively, and ensure flawless service for high‑end international clients.

Key responsibilities

• Run private Inca Trail treks (5‑day and 2‑day/1‑night) from permits to guides, porters, cooks, equipment and campsite logistics.
• Purchase Inca Trail permits and Machu Picchu entrance tickets, managing release days and regulatory compliance.
• Coordinate private tours and group trips in Cusco, the Sacred Valley and Machu Picchu, handling itineraries, trains, hotels, transport and special experiences.
• Accompany groups on the ground as the English‑speaking tour coordinator, overseeing every detail.
• Lead, train and expand the team of guides and trekking staff.
• Negotiate rates and maintain relationships with hotels, train operators, transport providers and restaurants, keeping the supplier cost database up‑to‑date.
• Prepare cost estimates for group quotes and custom trips.
• Respond quickly to operational emergencies with sound judgment.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years proven experience operating the Inca Trail, including permit purchasing.
• Experience as a tour coordinator or operations manager serving high‑end international clients.
• Fluent spoken and written English.
• Established supplier network in Cusco, the Sacred Valley and Machu Picchu.
• Proactive, organized, with a strong sense of urgency and flawless follow‑through.
• Official tour guide license is highly valued.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Google Sheets / Excel.
• Comfortable using Google Drive for document management.
