Senior Accountant – IFRS Reporting Lead

About the role

The International Potato Center (CIP) is looking for a Senior Accountant to lead its financial reporting and technical accounting functions. Based in Lima, Peru, the role reports to the Senior Corporate Controller and ensures that all financial statements comply with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and issue monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements in full compliance with IFRS.
• Interpret IFRS, advise on complex accounting transactions and evaluate new accounting standards.
• Oversee balance‑sheet reconciliations, accounting estimates and financial disclosures.
• Strengthen internal control frameworks, identify risks and lead remediation plans.
• Act as the primary contact for internal and external audits, preparing documentation and resolving findings.
• Develop, implement and continuously improve accounting policies, procedures and reporting processes, including automation initiatives.
• Ensure timely and accurate tax compliance for headquarters.
• Provide technical guidance and coaching to accounting staff and outsourced finance personnel.

Required profile

• Senior‑level accountant with extensive experience in IFRS financial reporting.
• Proven track record of managing month‑end, quarter‑end and year‑end close processes.
• Experience coordinating internal and external audits.
• Strong knowledge of internal control frameworks and tax compliance.
• Ability to lead and mentor accounting teams.
