Senior IT Quality Engineer – Data Platform

About the role

TRANZACT is seeking a Senior IT Quality Engineer to join its ITQE DATA team. The role focuses on ensuring the reliability and integrity of modern data platforms that support ingestion, integration, governance and cloud optimisation across multiple insurance systems.

Key responsibilities

• Design and execute test strategies for batch, streaming and CDC data pipelines.
• Validate Databricks notebooks, clusters, runtime upgrades and Unity Catalog configurations.
• Review and certify Airflow DAGs and orchestration flows.
• Test API integrations and event‑driven services such as AWS Lambda, SNS and Service Bus.
• Ensure data integrity, consistency and governance standards, including PII handling and access control.
• Participate in pull‑request reviews, define quality gates and acceptance criteria.
• Track and report quality metrics and production risk.

Required profile

• Senior‑level thinker with architectural awareness.
• Comfortable working independently and detail‑oriented.
• Focus on defect prevention rather than detection.
• Strong communicator with cross‑functional teams.

Required skills

• 4+ years of QA / Quality Engineering experience with data exposure.
• Strong SQL for data validation.
• Hands‑on experience testing Databricks pipelines and notebooks.
• Knowledge of Airflow orchestration.
• Experience with AWS services (Lambda, SNS) or similar event‑driven architectures.
• API testing experience.
