Senior Power Supply & Traction Power Engineer

About the role

Hitachi Rail is seeking a Senior Power Supply & Traction Power Engineer to lead design and commissioning activities for rail projects. You will ensure that power supply and traction systems meet project timelines, quality standards, and cost targets while collaborating across multiple technical disciplines.

Key responsibilities

• Design and commission Power Supply (PS) and Traction Power (TP) systems for assigned rail projects.
• Manage interfaces with other relevant technologies and disciplines.
• Plan, coordinate, and execute on‑site testing activities according to project schedules.
• Perform verification and validation of PS & TP documentation in line with the V&V plan.
• Generate test reports, document non‑compliances, and propose corrective actions following quality procedures.
• Identify and interpret contractual requirements related to PS & TP design.
• Contribute to the standardisation of contact‑line solutions across multiple projects.

Required profile

• Proven senior‑level experience in power supply and traction power engineering for rail or similar transportation systems.
• Strong background in design, commissioning, and testing of electrical power systems.
• Ability to work effectively with cross‑functional teams and manage technical interfaces.
• Familiarity with verification & validation processes and contractual documentation.
