Senior QA Engineer

About the role

Makai is seeking a proactive Senior QA Engineer to join its remote team. You will be the hands‑on expert driving quality initiatives across the Makai Automation Platform, ensuring product reliability, performance, and user satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

• Own the end‑to‑end QA lifecycle: analyse requirements, design test strategies, execute functional, integration, regression and exploratory tests, and report release readiness.
• Perform API and backend testing using Postman and complex SQL queries to validate business logic and data integrity.
• Manage defect lifecycle: identify, document, track, and verify fixes in close collaboration with developers.
• Advocate and improve quality processes, providing feedback during grooming and sprint planning.

Required profile

• 5+ years of professional QA experience testing complex web applications.
• Strong analytical mindset, attention to detail and methodical testing approach.
• Fluent English (written and spoken) with excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Required skills

• Modern QA methodologies and test design techniques (equivalence partitioning, boundary value analysis).
• Full SDLC and STLC knowledge within Agile frameworks (Scrum/Kanban).
• Database testing with complex SQL queries (SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL).
• Test automation tools: Cypress, Playwright, Selenium.
• Ability to read code in JavaScript, TypeScript or Python.
• API testing tools such as Postman.
