Software Engineer (Lua) – Remote

About the role

Join a global team of top‑tier engineers to work on the performance‑critical edge of gateway infrastructure. You will develop and maintain Lua code that powers authentication, routing and session management for high‑scale systems where every millisecond counts.

Key responsibilities

• Write and maintain high‑performance Lua code running in the hot path of gateway services.
• Ensure reliability and low latency of authentication and routing components under heavy load.
• Debug and resolve latency, failover and scalability issues in distributed environments.
• Contribute to observability, monitoring and safe staged‑rollout practices across the infrastructure.

Required profile

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong problem‑solving mindset with a focus on safety and performance.
• Advanced proficiency in English for communication within a multicultural team.

Required skills

• Lua programming language.
• Redis (connection pooling, timeouts, failover, latency debugging).
• JWT/OIDC authentication mechanisms.
• Gateway routing and tenant‑aware request handling.
• Performance optimization targeting p99 latency.
• Observability tools and staged‑rollout deployment practices.
