Staff Data Scientist, Growth

About the role

Alpaca is seeking a Staff Data Scientist, Growth to define and own how the company measures and drives growth across the entire customer journey, from acquisition to monetization.

Key responsibilities

• Own the growth funnel end‑to‑end, analyzing acquisition, activation, retention, referral and monetization.
• Design and run A/B tests and causal/incrementality studies for onboarding, pricing, lifecycle and referral loops.
• Build retention, churn, LTV, CAC/payback models and forecast core growth metrics.
• Define and maintain growth metrics, North Star, and create dashboards with analytics engineering.
• Partner with product, marketing, sales, engineering and finance to turn insights into strategy.

Required profile

• Proven expertise in growth or product analytics and data science with strong statistical and experimentation background.
• Hands‑on experience with funnel analytics, cohort analysis, LTV/CAC and lifecycle/CRM analytics.
• Experience building experimentation tooling and frameworks for trustworthy A/B tests and causal‑inference analyses.
• Familiarity with marketing measurement such as attribution, incrementality or marketing‑mix modeling is a strong plus.
