Financial Controller

About the role

MEDLIFE is seeking a reliable and organized Financial Controller to execute month‑end close activities, maintain clean QuickBooks data, and support senior‑leadership financial reporting. The role works closely with the CFO and coordinates with accountants across multiple countries.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and reconcile monthly close activities, including journal entries, accruals and bank, credit‑card and intercompany reconciliations for CFO review.
• Maintain audit‑ready documentation for all processed transactions.
• Ensure QuickBooks data hygiene by keeping the chart of accounts, classes, locations and projects correctly tagged and flagging inconsistent coding.
• Track senior‑leadership team (SLT) trip‑level budgets, unit‑economics and cost‑vs‑actual reports, alerting when direct‑cost targets are exceeded.
• Compile the weekly cash‑flow flash report and update the rolling 13‑week cash‑flow forecast using CFO‑provided assumptions.
• Coordinate reporting deadlines with the Staff Accountant, Bookkeeper and country accountants, consolidating their submissions and escalating issues.

Required profile

• Highly reliable and organized, with a strong attention to detail and ability to follow established processes.
• Effective communicator who can work respectfully across multiple countries and meet deadlines.
• Motivated by MEDLIFE’s mission to improve access to healthcare, education and safe housing for low‑income communities.

Required skills

• Proficiency with QuickBooks accounting software.
• Experience in month‑end close, journal entries, accruals and reconciliations.
• Ability to produce cash‑flow forecasts and financial reporting.
