Industrial Robotics Engineer (Remote)

About the role

Rex.zone is seeking an Industrial Robotics Engineer to design, integrate and support robotic cells for material handling, assembly and inspection. The role is fully remote and involves programming, PLC integration, safety validation and continuous improvement to boost uptime and throughput.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain robot programming standards, including path planning, tool calibration, TCP and coordinate management.
• Integrate robots with PLCs, sensors, servo drives and safety systems, handling industrial networking and I/O mapping.
• Create commissioning checklists, acceptance tests and troubleshooting playbooks to minimise downtime.
• Implement vision‑guided workflows for localization, orientation, inspection triggers and quality gates.
• Support simulation and offline programming to de‑risk deployments and accelerate production start‑up.
• Perform root‑cause analysis on faults such as alarms, collisions, mis‑picks and cycle variance, driving corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with machine safety requirements, including risk assessments, interlocks, safety PLCs and functional safety validation.
• Partner with operations to monitor OEE, reduce scrap and deliver reliability improvements.

Required profile

• Mid‑senior experience delivering industrial robotic cell integrations and commissioning support.
• Hands‑on robot programming experience with platforms such as FANUC, ABB, KUKA or Yaskawa.
• Strong PLC fundamentals (ladder or structured text) and knowledge of industrial protocols like EtherNet/IP and PROFINET.
• Understanding of motion control, cycle‑time optimisation and repeatability constraints.
• Experience with machine safety, risk assessment practices and reading electrical schematics.
