About the role

BlueOrchard is seeking an Investment Professional to join its regional investment team in Lima. The role focuses on sourcing, analysing and executing debt investment opportunities in financial institutions across Latin America, with a strong emphasis on social impact and ESG considerations.

Key responsibilities

• Propose and present investment opportunities to the Credit Committee, ensuring alignment with risk appetite and social return objectives.
• Conduct desk reviews, on‑site financial analysis, ESG and social impact assessments of existing and potential investees.
• Plan, prepare and lead due‑diligence visits, performing country and credit risk analysis.
• Mentor local investment officers and contribute to the development of investment and credit analysis tools.

Required profile

• Flexible, highly analytical self‑starter with strong commercial acumen and attention to detail.
• High work ethic, capable of multitasking and delivering quality output within deadlines.
• Team player comfortable working in an international, multicultural environment.
• Willingness to reside in Lima and travel regularly across the region.

Required skills

• 8+ years experience assessing financial institutions, preferably in credit rating agencies, banking, or SME‑focused lenders.
• Proven experience in financial due diligence, credit analysis, debt investment assessment and ESG/social impact evaluation.
• Excellent problem‑solving, presentation and communication skills in English and Spanish.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in finance, economics, business administration or related field.
