Product Manager, Clearing Systems

About the role

Alpaca is building the next generation of global brokerage and clearing infrastructure. We are looking for a senior product manager to own the clearing systems product lifecycle for a rapidly scaling self‑clearing broker‑dealer.

Key responsibilities

• Define long‑term architecture for the clearing platform covering accounts, positions, balances, ledgers, journals, settlements and regulatory books.
• Design multi‑currency cash and position systems that support equities, FX, fractional trading, options, bonds, Treasuries and other asset classes.
• Partner with engineering to prototype and build new clearing services, reducing reliance on third‑party workflows.
• Work cross‑functionally with operations, finance, treasury, compliance, legal, risk and product to ensure scalability and regulator readiness.
• Translate complex clearing, custody and regulatory requirements into clear product and engineering specifications.

Required profile

• 5+ years in product management, technical program management or engineering on brokerage, clearing or post‑trade infrastructure.
• 10+ years of experience in brokerage, clearing, custody, prime brokerage, trading infrastructure or capital markets technology.
• Deep expertise in at least one clearing domain such as settlement, books and records, corporate actions, margin or DTCC processing.
• Highly technical with the ability to turn complex domain requirements into scalable system designs.
• Strong operating judgment to balance risk, efficiency, capital allocation, feasibility, timeline and budget.
