About the role
GATESOURCE HR is recruiting a Project Director to lead the development and execution of gold tailings retreatment facilities. The position is based in Arequipa, Peru, and covers the full scope of building and operating gold processing plants.
Key responsibilities
- Lead the development and construction of gold tailings processing plants.
- Manage engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contractors.
- Oversee project schedule, CAPEX and commissioning.
- Coordinate tailings re-mining, processing and deposition systems.
- Manage site operations during ramp-up.
- Ensure compliance with environmental and mining regulations.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams including geology, metallurgy and environmental specialists.
Required profile
- Degree in Engineering, Mining or Project Management.
- 15+ years of experience delivering mining or processing plant projects.
- Experience with gold processing plants or tailings retreatment facilities.
- Experience managing multi-million-dollar mining projects.
- Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills.
