Quality Manager (In-field)

About the role

United Exports is looking for a Quality Manager (In-field) to oversee and ensure the effective implementation of quality assurance processes across all farms in Peru, according to the OZblu® standard. The role also ensures quality data is accurately captured, managed and analysed so that the right product can be allocated to the right customer. The position is open to candidates based in Lima, Chiclayo or Trujillo.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the in-field QA/QC team and monitor the performance of the In-field Quality Assurance Officers so that objectives and standards are met
• Ensure the team captures data and gives enough feedback on quality and compliance to support informed decisions
• Address non-conformances and concerns raised during routine farm inspections
• Ensure packed products meet product standards before leaving the farm or packhouse
• Collect, analyse and interpret QC data to drive accurate and timely decisions
• Make sure projects follow regulatory requirements, quality standards and sustainability practices
• Help growers in Peru comply with OZblu standards, including pre- and post-harvest standards
• Manage the Compliance and Quality team so that regulatory or protocol changes are implemented and best practice is maintained

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Engineering or similar
• At least 5 years of experience in agribusiness
• Experience supervising teams
• Fluent Spanish and English
• Valid driver's licence
• Ability to travel locally and internationally on short notice
• Technical knowledge and experience with blueberries is an advantage

• Confident in decision making and advising; able to work independently
