Sr. Forward Deployed Engineer

About the role

As a Senior Forward Deployed Engineer you will partner with customers to design, build, and productionize data and AI solutions on the Databricks platform. This hands‑on, customer‑facing position blends deep technical expertise with business impact, requiring you to lead architecture decisions and deliver end‑to‑end systems that span data engineering, machine learning, and application development.

Key responsibilities

• Lead technical delivery of production‑grade systems, reference architectures, and custom applications for customers.
• Guide strategic customers through end‑to‑end design, build, and deployment of large‑scale data and AI projects.
• Provide architectural guidance, ensuring solutions are secure, scalable, and aligned with Databricks best practices.
• Collaborate with Databricks engineering, support, and product teams to address engagement‑specific issues.
• Embed with customer teams, engaging stakeholders from engineers to executives to understand challenges and drive measurable outcomes.
• Contribute reusable assets, frameworks, and best practices that influence the product roadmap.

Required profile

• 6+ years of experience in data engineering, data platforms, analytics, or software engineering.
• Strong customer empathy and ability to work independently in fast‑paced environments.
• Proven track record of delivering complex technical projects on time and to specification.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Python, Scala, JavaScript, and TypeScript.
• Hands‑on experience with modern cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and at least one in depth.
• Deep knowledge of distributed computing frameworks, especially Apache Spark.
