Talent Development Team Lead

About the role

MEDLIFE, a non-profit organisation that partners with low-income communities in Latin America and Africa to improve access to medicine, education and community development, is looking for a hands-on, mission-driven Talent Development Team Lead. You will build MEDLIFE's leaders, culture and performance system so every team has clear KPIs, regular feedback and development plans, and leaders grow from within. You report directly to the Founder and work closely with the Leadership team and team leads across departments.

Key responsibilities

• Work side by side with team leads on direct feedback, regular 1:1s, follow-up and difficult conversations.
• Build and facilitate the Leadership Development Program and agree a development plan with each team lead.
• Help each team lead define 3 to 4 clear KPIs and a weekly scorecard, and review them regularly.
• Ensure every employee has a role scorecard, clear goals and a development plan, and run performance review cycles hands-on.
• Run recognition programs (including the monthly Level Win meeting), behavior assessments and team-building initiatives.
• Design and run engagement and climate surveys end to end, and lead the resulting action plans.
• Identify skill gaps and own the training framework (Core MEDLIFE, Sales and Leadership development).
• Run 360 feedback, quarterly talent reviews and succession planning for critical leadership roles.
• Lead, coach and develop the Talent Acquisition and People Administration team, setting its KPIs and weekly scorecard.
• Learn current people processes, document key ones as simple SOPs and implement improvements.

Required profile

• 4+ years of experience in HR, Talent Development or Organizational Development, with real experience leading people or coordinating other leaders.
• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Psychology, Business Administration, Organizational Development or a related field.
• Hands-on execution: personally built and facilitated trainings, run review cycles, created scorecards or rubrics and presented results.
• Experience developing leaders and coaching managers on feedback, 1:1s and follow-up.
• Practical experience in performance management and/or learning and development, with working knowledge of both.
• Experience running culture, values, recognition or engagement initiatives and turning results into action plans.
• Experience setting expectations and KPIs, running 1:1s and holding people accountable.
• Advanced English and Spanish.

Required skills

• KPI and data mindset: defining simple metrics, tracking them and using evidence to decide.
• Process improvement: documenting work, proposing and implementing improvements.
• Generative AI used to build training content and automate HR reporting.
• Proficiency in Google Workspace, Slack, HubSpot, an ATS (e.g. Hiring Room) and HR tools such as performance management systems, survey platforms and LMS.

Nice to have

• Non-profit or mission-driven organisation experience.
• Multi-country or fast-growing organisation experience.
• Leadership development program design or facilitation experience.
• Succession planning, talent reviews or compensation and benefits exposure.
• Knowledge of Latin American labour regulations (Peru is a plus).

• Full-time position, Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm (Peru time, GMT-5).
• Hybrid for candidates based in Lima, Peru; remote for candidates in other countries.
