Urban Planning Analyst Consultant

About the role

The Urban Planning Analyst Consultant will support UN‑Habitat’s Andean Countries Hub in delivering the "Local Solutions for Disaster Risk Reduction" project. Working under the supervision of the Project Coordination Team, the consultant will provide technical inputs, produce analytical products and ensure the integration of urban planning, disaster risk reduction and resilience across project components.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain regular communication with the Project Coordination Team and Hub Coordinator, reporting on technical progress, risks and opportunities.
• Validate technical outputs and ensure alignment with UN‑Habitat approaches, including integrated urban planning, resilience and participatory processes.
• Support the development, review and quality assurance of methodologies, guidelines and planning instruments.
• Conduct territorial diagnostics, vulnerability assessments and urban analyses to identify resilient interventions.
• Facilitate participatory planning processes and coordinate engagement with local institutions and stakeholders.
• Document project achievements, lessons learned and good practices for knowledge dissemination.
