Virtual Medical Assistant

About the role

Outsourcing Staffing Advantage is looking for a compassionate, detail‑oriented Virtual Medical Assistant to join its Telehealth team. The role supports patients before their virtual consultations by gathering and documenting comprehensive medical information, ensuring physicians have accurate records for each appointment.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the first point of contact during the telehealth intake process.
• Collect and accurately document patient demographics, medical history, surgeries, diagnoses, allergies and medication lists.
• Review patient information for completeness and accuracy before the consultation.
• Enter all data into the medical documentation system with high precision.
• Prepare and organize patient records and coordinate the hand‑off to the physician.
• Maintain confidential medical documentation in compliance with privacy standards.
• Communicate professionally and compassionately with patients throughout the intake.

Required profile

• Background as RN, LPN, medical student, physician in training or other healthcare professional with strong medical knowledge.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. medical terminology, diagnoses, anatomy and common medications.
• Excellent analytical, organizational and critical‑thinking abilities.
• High attention to detail and documentation accuracy.
• Compassionate, patient‑centered approach and ability to work independently.
• Fluent in English and Spanish, both written and verbal.

Required skills

• Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR/EHR) systems.
