Accounting Leader

About the role

The Accounting Leader reports to the Country Controller and is responsible for ensuring timely and accurate monthly, quarterly and year‑end financial reporting across the Americas. This role supports the Controllership team, drives compliance with US GAAP, local GAAP and SOX, and serves as the main interface with internal and external auditors.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the full financial close process, including monthly, quarterly and annual statement preparation and account reconciliations.
• Maintain judgmental reserve balances and ensure all accounting entries comply with US GAAP, company policies and local regulations.
• Oversee SOX compliance activities and support internal and external audit engagements.
• Supervise intercompany and accounts payable transactions and provide detailed account analysis.
• Manage accounting system upgrades, drive continuous improvement initiatives and implement automation tools such as SAP.
• Develop team capabilities through training, coaching and change management.
• Maintain effective communication with local and regional leadership.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Public Accounting; Master’s degree or finance certification is a plus.
• Fluent in English and Spanish.
• Minimum five years of progressive experience in general accounting, financial reporting and controllership.
