Accounting Leader

About the role

The Accounting Leader reports to the Country Controller and plays a critical part in delivering accurate, timely financial reporting across the Americas and globally. This role ensures compliance with US GAAP, local GAAP, SOX and company policies while supporting internal and external audit activities.

Key responsibilities

• Lead monthly, quarterly and annual financial statement closing, account reconciliations and reserve judgments.
• Ensure all reporting processes comply with US GAAP, SOX and internal policies.
• Coordinate audit activities with internal and external auditors.
• Supervise intercompany and accounts payable transactions.
• Provide detailed account analysis, explain variances and resolve pending items.
• Maintain and upgrade accounting systems and drive finance‑process improvements.
• Develop team capabilities through training and change management.
• Communicate effectively with local and regional leadership.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Public Accounting.
• Minimum 5 years of progressive accounting experience.
• Fluency in English and Spanish.
• Preferred Master’s degree or professional finance certification.

Required skills

• Proficiency with SAP (or similar ERP) accounting modules.
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP and local GAAP.
• Experience with SOX compliance and internal controls.
