Assistant Finance Manager

About the role

The Assistant Finance Manager will support Mace's finance function across multiple international entities. You will work closely with project teams, external accounting partners and internal stakeholders to ensure accurate financial processing and reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Manage purchase ledger and intercompany ledgers, setting up payments for international entities.
• Submit supplier and payroll payments via banking portals such as JPM.
• Support project teams by raising external sales invoices and maintaining the sales ledger.
• Perform bank reconciliations and provide treasury support.
• Produce ad‑hoc reports and analysis for finance business partners.
• Handle loan interest invoicing between consulting entities.
• Assist with quarterly communications, including PowerPoint slide preparation.
• Maintain the general ledger and subsidiary ledgers in the accounting system.
• Collaborate with external accountants (e.g., Baker Tilly) on financial matters.
• Identify and implement process improvements for accuracy and efficiency.
• Lead ad‑hoc finance projects and support month‑end activities.
• Coach and guide junior finance staff.
• Contribute to net‑zero carbon initiatives by tracking related emissions.

Required profile

• Systematic, methodical approach with a curiosity for learning.

• Clear, concise written and verbal communication.
• Basic understanding of budgeting, planning and forecasting.
• Experience in management reporting and analysis.
