About the role

The Department of Immunology and Microbiology is seeking an Assistant Professor to lead research on the role of skin bacteria in the pathogenesis, progression and drug resistance of Cutaneous T‑Cell Lymphoma (CTCL). The position combines basic and translational studies, teaching, and mentorship within an internationally collaborative environment.

Key responsibilities

  • Design and execute independent research projects on skin microbiome, inflammation and CTCL using tissue culture, animal models and advanced omics.
  • Publish findings in peer‑reviewed journals and present at international conferences.
  • Secure external funding and contribute to grant writing.
  • Teach undergraduate and graduate courses and supervise MSc/PhD students.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary collaborations with clinicians, bioinformaticians and industry partners.

Required profile

  • PhD in Immunology or a related field with a focus on infectious diseases.
  • Strong motivation for independent research and academic teaching.
  • Experience in handling primary human skin samples and mouse models.

Required skills

  • Single‑cell transcriptomics (CITE‑seq) and 10x Genomics platform.
  • Multi‑parameter flow cytometry and cell sorting.
  • Tissue culture of primary T cells and isolation of cells from biopsies.
  • Cell line generation, imaging and kinase assays.
  • Experimental work with mice (in vivo studies).
  • Single‑cell multi‑omics and large‑scale data analysis.
