Assistant Trip Leader – Service Learning Trip to Ecuador

About the role

MEDLIFE is seeking an Assistant Trip Leader to support a week‑long service‑learning trip to Ecuador. Volunteers will work alongside local communities on development projects and mobile medical clinics, gaining first‑hand insight into extreme poverty and contributing to sustainable solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Trip Leader in coordinating daily operations of the trip, mobile clinics, and community projects.
• Act as an interpreter between medical professionals, community members, and volunteers.
• Help run mobile clinic activities, keep volunteers informed, and lead group tasks.
• Address volunteers’ concerns, ensuring their wellbeing throughout the trip.

Required profile

• Passionate advocate for social justice, human rights, and sustainable development.
• Strong storyteller and impact‑oriented mindset.
• Proactive problem‑solver with excellent leadership and communication abilities.

Required skills

• Degree or ongoing studies in Tourism, Hospitality Management, Social Sciences, or related field.
• Fluency in English.
• Cultural sensitivity and understanding of international development issues.
• Project coordination or management experience is a plus.
