AWS Cloud Technical Leader

About the role

Talan, an international consulting group with over 7,200 consultants in 21 countries, is looking for an AWS Cloud Technical Leader in Lima. The role provides technical leadership for AWS-based solutions, guides development teams in engineering, security, quality and performance best practices, and acts as the technical point of reference for Development, Infrastructure and Support teams.

Key responsibilities

• Guide development teams in adopting engineering, security, quality and performance best practices.
• Take part in defining technical solutions and support decisions on applications and cloud platforms.
• Oversee the full application lifecycle, from development and deployment to maintenance and continuous evolution.
• Ensure integration between applications, AWS services and corporate systems.
• Identify technical risks, technical debt and improvement opportunities, and lead technical reviews of solutions, code, infrastructure and deployments.
• Ensure compliance with security, observability, availability and performance standards.
• Coordinate complex incident resolution and provide Level 3 support when required.
• Drive automation, continuous improvement and DevOps adoption, and maintain technical documentation.

Required profile

• 5+ years of technical leadership experience in Cloud Engineering or similar roles.
• Proven experience leading technical teams and coordinating cross-functional initiatives.
• Experience developing, deploying and operating applications in AWS environments, and with distributed architectures and highly available production environments.
• C1 level English, spoken and written, to lead technical sessions and coordinate international teams.

Required skills

• AWS Cloud, preferably including EC2, ECS, EKS, Lambda, API Gateway, S3, RDS, IAM, CloudWatch.
• Distributed architectures and microservices, Docker and Kubernetes/EKS.
• Infrastructure as Code with Terraform or equivalent, CI/CD and deployment automation.
• REST APIs, messaging and event-driven architectures, AWS networking and security.
• Nice to have: GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, SRE, AWS certifications, regulated industry experience, Agile/DevSecOps, application modernisation.
