Civil/Structural Designer – Lima

About the role

Bechtel is seeking a Civil/Structural Designer to support mining and metals projects in Lima. The role involves field support, client interviews, and the development of civil and structural designs that meet complex project requirements. You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure constructability and compliance with standards.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, schedule, and coordinate detailed civil/structural engineering phases for global projects.
• Prepare original design layouts, detailed drawings, and specifications for structures, buildings, roadways, and railways.
• Design, develop, modify, and evaluate civil/structural components using Bechtel Engineering Department Procedures, design standards, and internal application programs.
• Select appropriate structural materials (steel, wood, masonry, concrete) based on load and stress requirements.
• Interpret engineering calculations into design deliverables and conduct constructability reviews.
• Analyze and report on the suitability of unconventional materials and techniques.

Required profile

• Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Experience in designing infrastructure for mining or metals projects is preferred.
• Ability to work on-site in Lima and collaborate with international teams.
• Strong analytical skills to resolve conflicting design requirements.
