Database Architect – On‑Premise & Cloud

About the role

Kyndryl is looking for a Data Architect to lead the design, implementation and governance of data solutions across on‑premise and cloud environments. You will translate business requirements into robust data models and architectures that support our customers' digital transformation.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement data models, database schemas and storage architectures for relational, hierarchical and object‑oriented databases.
• Guide the full data lifecycle, including acquisition, transformation, classification, storage, security, privacy and archiving.
• Collaborate with customers to create solution designs that meet business needs while considering constraints and cloud integration.
• Conduct solution assurance assessments and work with project teams to ensure delivery meets expectations.

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of data modeling, database design and data‑management best practices.
• Experience architecting and implementing data and storage platforms, including mainframe‑to‑cloud migrations.
• Customer‑focused mindset with a growth orientation and ability to work inclusively across teams.

Required skills

• Python, C, C++, Java programming.
• PostgreSQL, SQL Server, Azure DB, SingleStore, VSAM, DB2, CDC.
• Experience with cloud data platforms, particularly Microsoft Azure.
