About the role

The Director of Fraud Prevention and Operational Governance will lead Scotiabank Peru’s Fraud Prevention Center and ensure that business strategies, plans, and initiatives comply with internal policies, regulatory requirements, and operational risk frameworks. This senior position is responsible for shaping the bank’s approach to digital identity verification, AI‑driven fraud detection, and cyber‑fraud response.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee digital identity verification architecture, synthetic identity detection, and deep‑fake/injection attack awareness.
• Coordinate cyber‑fraud convergence and collaborate with IT, CSIRT, and CISO for integrated response.
• Lead the governance and use of AI in fraud detection, managing model drift, bias, and automated triage.
• Build and maintain regulatory and law‑enforcement relationships, representing the bank in industry associations.
• Implement a robust fraud analysis, oversight, and prevention structure across all service channels.
• Advise senior management on fraud event evaluation and decision‑making.
• Design, develop, and maintain fraud prevention strategies, programs, and educational campaigns.
• Monitor, analyze, and report fraudulent activities, providing trend analysis and management reports.
• Ensure business units receive training on operational and regulatory risk frameworks and maintain documentation of local processes.
• Lead implementation of the Operational Risk Framework, including risk assessments, loss data management, and scenario analysis.
