About the role
The United Nations Resident Coordination Office in Lima is seeking an Economist to provide evidence‑based economic analysis that supports sustainable development, economic transformation and SDG financing. The role works closely with the Resident Coordinator, the UN Country Team and a range of national and international partners.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct substantive economic and policy analysis on sustainable development trends, green transition, digital transformation and SDG financing, and prepare briefing materials, policy papers and reports for senior UN officials.
- Support partnerships and engagement with government agencies, UN entities, International Financial Institutions, private sector, academia and civil society to promote coordinated economic transformation and innovative financing approaches.
- Provide economic inputs to the UN sustainable development programming cycle, including the Common Country Analysis, Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework and joint programmes, ensuring integration of macro‑economic trends and financing strategies.
