Executive Director of Finance

About the role

Hudbay Peru is seeking an Executive Director of Finance to act as the Commercial CFO and strategic co‑pilot to the VP/General Manager. The role will drive regional financial autonomy, capital discipline and cost efficiency across a matrixed Lima/Toronto structure while providing high‑level IT governance and advanced financial analytics.

Key responsibilities

• Lead strategic initiatives that affect production, structural costs and regional growth outside Constancia.
• Oversee IT governance, SAP optimization and business‑intelligence tools to improve cost tracking and data‑driven decision making.
• Manage capital allocation, working‑capital efficiency and major commercial or procurement negotiations.
• Direct complex regional accounting, tax optimization and corporate diplomacy within a multinational, TSX‑listed environment.

Required profile

• 15+ years of progressive financial leadership, including at least 5 years as a Business Unit CFO or senior Finance Director in mining.
• Proven experience in large‑scale mining operations with a focus on asset optimization and low‑cost production.
• University degree in Business Administration, Economics, Accounting, Industrial Engineering or related field.
• Professional designation such as CA, CPA or MBA is highly desirable.
• Deep knowledge of Peruvian tax and regulatory frameworks (SUNAT) and strong local professional networks.
• Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish.
